Terms of Service

Effective August 14, 2026

These terms govern your use of Riggr, a Shopify app operated by Best & Basic Inc. (“we,” “us”). By installing Riggr you agree to these terms.

The service

Riggr is a read-only bridge between your Shopify store and third-party AI clients (Claude, Codex, ChatGPT, Cursor) through the Model Context Protocol, plus a REST API for scripts. Riggr reads live data from Shopify on your behalf; it does not modify, delete, or write anything in your store, and it does not warehouse the Shopify payloads it proxies (see the Privacy Policy for account data we do store).

Ownership of apps you build

You own all code, data, and materials that Riggr helps you scaffold, generate, or store on your local machine. Riggr does not claim ownership of any custom app, workflow, script, or output produced by AI tools using Riggr’s data connection. Riggr’s role is limited to providing the read-only data pipeline; the code you produce is yours.

Sparks and other prompt templates Riggr publishes remain our intellectual property as templates. Your right to use them is to generate and iterate on apps you own. This section does not transfer ownership of the Riggr service, trademarks, or our software to you.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your Riggr sign-in email, API keys, and OAuth tokens secure. Anyone who has your API key can query your store through Riggr, so treat keys like passwords. You can revoke keys from your Riggr dashboard at any time.

Subscription

Riggr charges through the Shopify Billing API (billed on your Shopify invoice). Free install includes REST API access with an API key. The paid MCP plan is $9.99/mo with a 14-day trial. You can cancel MCP from Riggr Settings or from Shopify Admin (Settings → Apps and sales channels → Riggr). Cancellation takes effect immediately with a prorated credit for the unused portion of the period; MCP access ends at cancellation. You keep Free-tier REST access after cancelling MCP unless you uninstall the app.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Riggr against a Shopify store you do not own or operate.
  • Circumvent Shopify’s API rate limits or terms of service.
  • Use Riggr to send spam, harass customers, or violate applicable laws.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the security of the service.

Violations may result in suspension or termination as described under Termination below.

Uptime

We aim for high availability but make no formal uptime guarantee. Riggr depends on Shopify Admin GraphQL; downtime, rate limiting, or errors on Shopify’s side may affect Riggr.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BEST & BASIC INC. DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that: (a) the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (b) results obtained from the service will be accurate or reliable; (c) any defects will be corrected; or (d) the service or the servers that make it available are free of viruses or other harmful components. AI clients can and do make mistakes; verify anything important against Shopify Admin before acting on it.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. In those jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL BEST & BASIC INC., ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AFFILIATES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM; OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100) IF YOU HAVE PAID NOTHING DURING THAT PERIOD.

The limitations above apply even if any limited remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Best & Basic Inc., its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the service; (b) your violation of these terms or applicable law; (c) your Shopify store, content, or data; (d) any third-party claim that your use of the service (including use by AI clients or scripts you authorize) infringes or misuses third-party rights; or (e) disputes between you and any AI provider, end customer, or other third party.

We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense of that claim.

Termination

You may stop using Riggr at any time by cancelling your MCP subscription (if any) and/or uninstalling the app from Shopify Admin. Uninstall ends access to the service for that store. Cancellation and uninstall effects on billing and data are described in the Subscription section above and in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service (in whole or in part), immediately and without prior notice, if: (a) you breach these terms or Shopify’s terms; (b) your use creates material risk to Riggr, Shopify, other merchants, or third parties; (c) we are required to do so by law or by Shopify; (d) you fail to pay applicable fees when due; or (e) we discontinue the service.

Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Ownership of apps you build, Disclaimer of warranties, Limitation of liability, Indemnification, Governing law and dispute resolution, and this Termination section) will survive termination.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be posted here and emailed to active subscribers. Continued use of the service after the effective date of updated terms constitutes acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service and uninstall the app.

Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

Before filing a formal claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by emailing support@hiriggr.com with a brief description of the dispute and your contact information. If we cannot resolve it within thirty (30) days after we receive your notice, either party may proceed as below.

Except where prohibited by law, any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be conducted in English in Wilmington, Delaware, or by video conference if both parties agree. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.

YOU AND BEST & BASIC INC. AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims or preside over any form of representative or class proceeding.

Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction in Wilmington, Delaware, to protect intellectual property or confidential information, or to enforce the arbitration agreement. Subject to the arbitration agreement above, the state and federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware will have exclusive jurisdiction over any non-arbitrable dispute, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

If you are a consumer and mandatory local law gives you rights that cannot be waived (including a right to bring claims in your home jurisdiction), those rights remain available to the extent required by law.
